September 6th, 2019. Abis lunch, janjian sama salah satu followers IG gw yang tinggal di Sydney. Ini unik banget. Namanya Yenny dan tgl lahirnya sama kaya gw. Beda di taon doank. Hahaha. Jadi kaya nemu kembaran beda taon. Gw diajakin ke sana ke mari, sampe akhirnya bisa ke The Grounds of Alexandria. Horeeeeee. Gw gak berpanjang lebar ya, jadi bisa diliat dari foto2nya aja. Oya di sini gw juga ketemuan sama Dian, temen kuliah dulu. Dia bawa 2 anaknya, pas mo les apalah gitu. Hahaha. Senang banget bisa jumpa lagi. Selalu senang kalo ada yang rela nyempetin waktunya buat ketemuan walau cuma sebentar. C u when I c u again ya Dian. :)

Opened in April 2012, The Grounds is built on the philosophy of creating experiences for communities through quality products, innovations and an ever-evolving vision. Located in a former industrial precinct from the 1920s, The Grounds of Alexandria is a landmark cafe, restaurant & bar, garden, bakery & patisserie, coffee roastery, animal farm, florist, markets and more.

Remaining true to the sites heritage of organic industries, which originally included tanneries, wool washing factories and market gardens, The Grounds provides a wholesome, produce-driven menu that is fresh, fun and innovative. The initial concept of The Grounds was born from entrepreneurial duo Ramzey Choker and Jack Hanna who had a vision to turn the then industrial concrete car park into a thriving urban sanctuary, designed as a welcoming space to bring people together.

Kalo gk salah tiap berapa lama mereka ganti konsep. Pas gw dateng kemaren itu konsepnya lagi candy theme gitu. Lucu banget.

Gw suka banget nih mereka ada jual bunga gini. Gila bagus2 banget. Beraneka ragam bunga, dan fresh semua bunganya. Aduh rasanya pingin langsung terjun ke tengah2 tumpukan bunga itu hahaha. Trus goler2an dah. Pasti dikira org gila. Hahaha.

THE GARDEN

The Grounds Garden is a place bursting with things to see, opening into a courtyard festooned with grapevines, florals, vegetables, herbs and greenery. An ever evolving and welcoming space injected with life for guests to explore. The Garden plays host to a number of take-away wholesome food and drink offerings, creating a multi-experiential setting.

The BBQ encapsulates the feeling of a summer bbq in the backyard; with chef’s cooking up burgers and other mouth-watering offerings straight off the charcoal grill. The Garden Barn oozes a retro feeling with a selection of juices & smoothies, and for the big kids wine & beer. Two beautiful Italian ovens pump out a wood fired offering of gourmet pizzas and wholesome dishes for everyone to enjoy.

Home to areas including an arbour laced with bougainvilleas and stunning interwoven lighting, an enchanting glass house, garden beds of fresh herbs & florals and an animal farm. The Garden offers a play area for kids to run free, and is home to resident pig, Harry Trotter, and his farm friends; including a brood of lively chickens who enjoy an afternoon roam around the garden.

Lucu di sana ada Chook House. Kandang ayam gitu. Gemes liatnya deh. Udah gitu di sana juga ada babinya. Iya, babi. Itu bisa liat di foto di bawah ini. Lagi bobo gitu babinya. Gak, gak gemes kalo babinya. Yang gemes itu kandang ayamnya. Please deh.

THE POTTING SHED

The Potting Shed is a place to meet, eat, drink, relax and chat your day and night away – where an abundance of hanging plants, terracotta pots and timber beams meet brass, brick and iron. Where you can plant yourself down on the swing seat, bench or at the bar and feel as relaxed as you are on your family’s porch.

It’s a lively place where you can hoe into fresh, locally harvested produce delivered by our shed-hands. The same hands that will deliver you good-natured banter, craft beers on tap, great tasting wines and unique cocktails garnished with an abundance of fresh florals and greenery as though plucked fresh from the garden.

THE CAFE

The Grounds of Alexandria Cafe is full of energy and life, created as an engaging and inspiring place for guests to reconnect with one another over world-class coffee and wholesome food. With a seasonally inspired menu that’s bursting with fresh flavours, Group Executive Chef, Paul McGrath, delivers an ever-evolving offering; carefully plating and presenting each dish to highlight the beauty of each ingredient.

At the coffee bar, specially trained baristas serve up The Grounds freshly roasted Seasonal Blend and Single Origin coffees using revolutionary espresso and filter technologies, with weekly offerings of new beans and roasts from across the globe. The Grounds of Alexandria Cafe is home to an artisan Bakery & Patisserie where guests can experience an inside look, as they watch our bakers creating fresh-baked sourdough loaves and and our pastry chefs fashioning irresistible pastries before their very eyes.

Berhubung hubby gak suka kopi, gw pesen iced chocolate deh. Disajikan dengan choco cubes gitu, dituang hot milk, jadi lumer kan. Enak banget. Dark chocolate. Gak terlalu pahit tapi juga gak terlalu manis, apalagi udah dicampur susu kan. Recommended!
