[CLOSED] DILL Gourmet Cafe Plaza Indonesia Thamrin Jakarta

January 17th, 2015. I was invited to DILL Gourmet Cafe for lunch with fellow foodies. First I thought they only served cakes and fresh juices, but turned out they served lunch and dinner too.

Our vision for a gourmet café began with something small: our love of good food. Over the course of nearly 2 ½ years, we concocted a menu that reflected what we're passionate about—things like a hearty cup of coffee, fine cuisine from all over the world, convenience for people on-the-go, and flavor. Lots of flavor.

What we ended up with was our dream café. A place where you can feel at home but still know you're getting a taste of luxury—even when you're on the go.

Located in the basement floor of Plaza Indonesia, the place wasn't very spacious. In fact, it's quite small. But comfortable enough to enjoy your meal and desserts. I love how they put cute displays there. Beautiful things everywhere.

DILL's Chef Salad with Gochujang Dressing 55k

Mixed Greens with Button Mushrooms, Boiled Egg, Chickpeas, Kidney Beans, & topped with Creamy Gochujang Dressing.

When I saw the name of this salad, I was so afraid that it will be spicy. But good thing, it's not that spicy. I can still enjoy the salad, even though it's not mine hahahaha..  The salad was delicious with fresh ingredients. Nice.

Gochujang (Korean: 고추장, IPA: [kotɕʰudʑaŋ] Koryo-mar:кочхицай) is a savory and pungent fermented Korean condiment made from red chili, glutinous rice, fermented soybeans and salt. Traditionally, it has been naturally fermented over years in large earthen pots outdoors, more often on an elevated stone platform, called jangdokdae (장독대) in the backyard.

Miso Gindara with Potato Puree 95k

Baked Gindara paired with Potato Puree, Grilled Asparagus, Grilled Mushrooms, Buttered Peas, Slow Roast Tomatoes, and Pesto Sauce.

The gindara was tender and moist. But the star of this dish, for me, the potato puree. It was amazingly delicious. And, again, this wasn't mine, so I just ate a small bite. Nice touch with the pesto sauce. But, needed more kick. Yup, pesto sauce is my favourite. :)

Nasi Goreng Maranggi 60k

Indonesian Fried Rice paired with Omelette, Maranggi Satay, Ikan Teri Medan, Rempeyek Kacang, and Pickles.

Actually this was a fried rice with maranggi satay :) The satay was delicious. It enhanced the flavour of the fried rice. Didn't try the other ingredients, but I believe it was delicious enough because my friend's plate was clean. He finished it instantly LOL.

Three Treasure Noodle Soup 65k

Taiwanese Style Noodle Soup with Beef Shank, Beef Tendon, Beef Tripe and Vegetables.

Finally, mine! That day, I had a problem with my tummy. So I need a soup for myself. After one sip, I told myself, "Right choice! This was the best so far!" Yup, the noodle soup was delicious. Flavour and texture were just right. Generous portion with the beef shank, beef tendon and beef tripe. Superb!

SNACKS

Chicken Confit Croquettes 35k

Golden fried chicken croquettes served with fried garlic.

Delicious snack. It was tender and moist. Very well-seasoned too. Recommended snack.

Curry French Fries 35k

Golden fried fries served with DILL’s signature curry sauce.

Not my favourite. As you know, curry is my least favourite. I only ate a few :D

DESSERT

Coffee Pistachio 50k

A coffee flavored sponge cake with mascarpone & cream cheese filling covered with pistachio & mixes peanuts. Uh-may-zing richness of flavor & texture. Have a slice of this goodness!

Love the pistachio hahaha.. But I love the sponge cake too. It was so fluffy and soft. But actually, I prefer chocolate cake than coffee cake.

Banana Nutella 50k

Banana sponge cake layered with Nutella cream & topped with Cream cheese.

They say, Happiness is Nutella. Lots of Nutella. LOL. But it's so true. Nutella cannot go wrong. And this banana nutella was amazingly delicious. The banana was not that strong. And it's the reason why this cake was unbelievably scrumptious.

Banana Cream Pie 35k

Banana Cream layered with bananas in a pie shell, topped with a hint of cinnamon cream.

It's banana again. And this time, it had a rich texture and flavour. Totally creamy and tasted delish. Recommended pie!
