Kopi Es Tak Kie at Gang Gloria Glodok Pinangsia Jakarta

April 12th, 2017. It's the legendary coffee shop. It's been there since 1920s. Actually, it's one coffee shop where my parents brought me when I was a kid, to eat Nasi Campur or meet up with their friends. Kopi Es Tak Kie.

Established in 1927, Tak Kie's name is derived from the word "Tak" which means wise and simple man. While the word "Kie" means easy to remember. This name has not changed since it was first established. The founder of this coffee shop wanted to teach his successors to always be low-profile and hard-working. I didn't know then, that it will be famous hahaha. It's my childhood memory, of course, with Mom, Dad and my siblings. Ok, back to the place now. When I was there, the lady behind the Nasi Campur there didn't recognize me. When I told her my Dad's name, she finally remembered me. She said, "Aaaah yes, I remember you." :)

Kopi Susu 17k

First timer. Yup, even though I always went there, I've never tried their coffee. So yeah, first timer, for sure. And I love the iced one. Tasted like a legendary coffee, not those modern coffee. LOL. I heard that they used varieties beans, but always the best one. Pssst, we ordered the hot one just because we wanted to take photos of the cup with their name written. Hahahaha..

Bakmi Pangsit 30k

Not my order. It's Cindy's and Ivan's order. Anyway, noodle is not my thing there. Well, it's quite delicious but not my favourite. Maybe next time I will order a bowl for myself. Maybe. Or maybe I will ask my hubby to order it, and I just try from his bowl.

Nasi Campur 40k

My childhood's Nasi Campur. Yaaaaaay. Always favourite. Trust me, the flavor never changed. My favourite was the pork satay. I remember, whenever I ate this Nasi Campur, I saved the pork satay for last. Yup, just like the quote said: save the best for last. LOL. Oh I miss those days..

I held my tears when they said to me before I went, "Send regards to your mom ya." When I said, "Mom's gone in July last year." I couldn't forget the look on their face. The lady said to me, "Sorry. We didn't know. Sorry." I had to hold my tears so hard. Mom, you see, they love you. Well, I will be back there again, to reminisce my childhood's memory. Soon.
