[EVENT] Basque X Cuca: Sugar Rush from Bali to Noble House Mega Kuningan Jakarta

April 13th, 2017. I got the VIP invitation from Cuca Bali to a Sugar Rush event at Basque. Virginia sent me the message and asked me to choose from 3 dates. So, I chose April 13th. Yaaaay, finally I could meet up with Virginia and Kevin. Long time no see. Basque X Cuca.

Remember those happy childhood moment when you had all those sweets and cakes on your hand? In collaboration with Chef Kevin Cherkas from Cuca Bali, we want to re-create those too-happy too-energetic moment to put a cherry on top of your day.

This was our first time to Basque. It's quite a fascinating place. There's a bunch of people dancing, and there's a bunch of people eating. LOL. Such a different atmosphere. :) But what I loved the most was when I met them again after some times. Virginia! Kevin! We miss you!

Apple Crumble

Ginger braised apples, frothed cream, country granola, tarragon; best paired with Apple Ginger Iced Tea

Kevin always amazed me with his creation. It's a really beautiful presentation. An apple crumble disguised into a beautiful rose. I think it's the only apple crumble that I could eat, since it looked very much alike a rose. And I love rose. Rose is my weakness. Hahahaha. Smart Kevin! He knew I was into roses hahahahah.. It was delicious but apple is actually my hubby's thing. So, I let him finish it.

Arroz Con Leche

Coconut rice, caramel banana, cinnamon perfume; best paired with Cortado Coffee

Another creative dessert from Kevin. It looked like banana, it tasted like banana, it was actually banana with coconut rice and caramel. It was on top of the banana peel. Genius! Oh well, it looked more like banana peel, but it's actually the banana. Hahaha. Love the texture of it. Tender and sweet. One of our favourite.

Brownie

Warm chocolate mousse, palm sugar ice cream, cocoa cumbs; best paired with Cortado Coffee

THE BEST! Kevin said that he wanted to make it a real brownie, with the same packaging when you buy a brownies for souvenir. That's why they presented the brownie in the carton box. And it was dabomb! Tasted delicious with fluffy and delicate texture, but of course with richer flavour. OMG! OMG! I love you Kevin! *Sorry Virginia hahaha* The fluffy texture of chocolate mousse mixed beautifully with the cocoa crumbs. DABEST!

Tea-Ramisu

Black tea cake, grass jelly, aired mascarpone, caramelized seeds; best paired with Creme Caramel Tea

Actually, Virginia and Kevin asked me, "Have you ever tried our tiramisu?" And I answered, "Not yet. When I was in Cuca, I tried the Bali Breakfast." Then, Kevin went back to the kitchen and made me a Tea-Ramisu. Love the texture. Love the flavour. Love Love Love. This was the second best that night! And it ended our #SugarRush night lusciously.

Thank you Virginia and Kevin. You guys are the best! Really! The best!
