And now let's talk about the new menu from Gian Andrian, the head chef of Bottega.

Turmeric Risotto with Squid Ink Crackers and Octopus 155k

Home Made Squid Ink Crackers, Grilled Octopus, White wine

Made from Arborio rice, an Italian rice that cooked with turmeric paste and cream topped with squid ink crackers and grilled octopus. It was very delicious. The squid ink crackers were so crispy. Tasted superb. The grilled octopus was tender and juicy. And the risotto, I think the best risotto I've ever tried. The texture of the risotto was gorgeous. And the turmeric idea was brilliant. It was super recommended!

Squid Ink Risotto with Calamari 165k

Squid Ink, White Wine, Onion, Fried Calamari

Another risotto which also made from Arborio rice, cooked with squid ink. Savoury and creamy taste, topped with fried crispy calamari. It was same texture with the turmeric risotto but had a different taste. I prefer the turmeric risotto than this one. But it's also a recommended one if you like squid ink. For me, it's reminded to black sticky rice. Errrrr.. your choice. This one or the turmeric one. :)

Sweet Corn Capelacci with Mushroom and Sage 125k

Sweet Corn, Minced Mushrooms, Brown Butter Sauce

Capelacci pasta filling with sweet corn puree, cooked with brown butter sauce, minced mushroom and fresh sage. It looked like dumplings. It's my first time trying cappellacci. Or I had one but I didn't know it's a pasta. Hahahaha. Tasted so delicious with buttery sauce. Not really my favourite, but everybody seems to like it. It's very good, but it's not numero uno. I still prefer the turmeric risotto. :)

Cappellacci are pasta dumplings, often described as stuffed pasta squares or rounds. They are large, so usually 5 or 6 is enough per person, given that they are usually used in a recipe with other food items such as radicchio, etc. A typical filling is ricotta and spinach.

House Made Pici with Tomato Bacon Sauce 115k

Beef or Pork Bacon, Poached Egg, Hand Made Pici, Tomato Marinara, Herbs

Hand rolled pasta cooked with marinara sauce and herbs mixed with beef or pork bacon. It's another new pasta for me. It's like udon. Looks like udon, taste like udon, but it's not udon. LOL. The poached egg cooked perfectly. Those melted egg yolk!! Hihihi.. Actually, marinara wasn't my favourite. It's a little bit too sour for me. The tomato was overpowering the other herbs. But, for those who love tomato sauce, it's one fresh marinara pasta!

Pici are thick, hand-rolled pasta, like fat spaghetti. It originates in the province of Siena in Tuscany; in the Montalcino area it is also referred to as pinci. The dough is typically made from flour and water only.

Sheperd’s Pie 115k

Traditional Chicken Pie Filling Topped with Baked Mashed Potato

A traditional chicken pie filling with mashed potato-topped the layers, it has slightly sour taste comes from tomato paste. My favourite! Generous chicken filling with dangerous effect, which is: ADDICTING. OMG! It's so fluffy I'm gonna die!!! LOL. When Cindy Lulaby tried this one, she said to me right away: "Ciyen, you're gonna love it!!" And, it's true. The moist mashed potato with tender chicken meat. Melt in your mouth. Heaven!

Purple Yam Sponge Cake 65k

It's a simple square of soft sponge cake made from fresh selection of purple sweet potato topped with cashew brown sugar tuille and purple sweet potato tuille. I didn't really like the sponge cake. It's too dense for me. Tasted good with the yam flavour. I just had complaint about the texture. But I guess everybody had their own taste bud. Right? Some people loved it. Well, it's not not good! It's good, but too dense. My own opinion. :)

Freshly Baked Chocolate Chip Cookies in A Pan with Rum and Raisin Ice Cream 68k

This is a cookie in large portion, served warm accompanied with rum and raisin ice cream. DABEST! Hot chocolate chip cookies with rum and raisin ice cream. Well, it's sharing portion, but not for me. It's all mine. Careful with the pan. It's hot. Take it a bite, and put the ice cream right away in your mouth. Heavenly delicious.
