[EVENT] A New Perspective on Photography @ Le Meridien Sudirman Jakarta

October 18th, 2013. Le Meridien Jakarta held an event called A New Perspective on Photograhy - a photographic journey with theme "Discover Fashion and Travel through Her Lens" with Ms Françoise Huguier at Le Meridien Club Lounge.

Françoise Huguier was very nice. It's an honor for me to meet her. She's such a low-profile person. When I read her biography, I was stunned. From fashion to reportage, from snapshots to directing, she has the same foresight eyes and give a personal touch to all of her works that never loses a sense of humor. We watched her photos in videos while enjoy cakes and snacks.

Let me introduce her to you all. She is such an adventurer. She was crazy about Africa, heading to black continent retracing the trail of Michel Leiris, a trip that inspired her first works, Sur les traces de l'Afrique fantôme.

In 1993, she is once again distinguished an outdoor guest at Villa Médicis, she published her work in the form of diary regarding her journey to Siberia, En route pour Behring. For this work, exposed in many festivals and art galleries, she received a prize at the World Press Photo the same year.

In 1996, Secrètes, comes to penetrate the intimacy of African women.

In 1998, she published a book titled Sublimes, her pieces of work for fashion photos shot in the shows during 15 years (1983-1998).

A book titled J’avais huit ans record an emotional journey of her trail tread childhood imprisoned by the Viet Minh.

She held regular exhibitions around the world: New York, Moscow, Seoun, Sao Paulo, Johannesburg, Laussane, Berlin, London, Madrid, Bogota, Valencia, etc.
