[CLOSED] Umabo at Setiabudi One Jakarta

November 25th, 2016. I saw on Instagram that there's a new place at Setiabudi One. Wow! It's a walking distance from my apartment. I have to go there. It's a must! It's not about competition. It's about being a first. LOL. Nooo.. it's because I love new place that opened near me. I can go there on weekdays hahahaha.. So, this morning, I woke up early, prepared myself to have brunch there. 9:50am. I walked to Setiabudi One. Took some money from ATM. Arrived at the exact place 10am. "Excuse me, open yet?" "Yes!" "Great!" Umabo.

Umabo stands for Umami-Bowl. Umami, a savory taste, is one of the five basic tastes. So, it means a bowl full of umami. Actually, they moved to Setiabudi One just a week ago. They opened 2 years ago at Wijaya I. But I think it's time for them to move. I've neven been there. I guess it's just a matter of time for me to try their food. I don't have to come to them. They come to me. LOL. They have indoor and outdoor seats. You can choose wherever you like to sit. It's very easy to find the place. Just go to the Setiabudi One's smoking area, look down, voila! Not spacious, but enough for 3 or 4 groups of people.

Ribs Me Up 63k

Slow cooked short ribs, creamed corn, braised garlic, eggplant, poached egg, crispy shallots, secret sauce

I chose the ribs me up because it's the most expensive one, so it must be the best. Hahaha. Well, I never tried their food, and I didn't know where to ask. So, I chose it out of my curiosity. And I found it very delicisous. The short ribs were tender and juicy. The creamed corn was addicting. I asked for sunny side up egg. Stirred it together with the secret sauce. OMG! Outstanding. My complaint was only the eggplant. Undercooked. Other than that, perfect!

Savoury chicken wings. A nice portion for a munch dish. I have to ask my hubby to come with me next time. He's a fans of chicken wings. Always love wings' meat. Deliciously tender. Addicting!!!
